Charlie I couldn’t agree more. I am a native of South Carolina and a direct descendant of Confederate soldiers. That qualifies me to be a member of the Sons of the Confederacy. I have never joined that organization because I didn’t want that to hinder in any way those who I would be privileged to minister to. I love my home state. I am proud of my ancestors and their sacrifice but I am ready to move on and work for unity by removing symbols that needlessly divide. For me, there is no symbol or allegiance that supersedes my commitment to Jesus and the message of the Gospel. I hope what has been happening in Charleston will spread throughout our state and our churches. There is no place for prejudice or racism in the church. Jesus loves all and shed His blood for all. There is neither Jew or Greek, white or black, yellow or red at the foot of the cross. I long for the church to value and live out the unity our Lord Prayed for in John 17. Thank you brother for your bold leadership!
David you are clearly gifted in teaching God’s Word & we will miss hearing you preach. But we are excited for you & your family & know your next church will be blessed by ya’ll!
Prayers and love to the family
